Ganiyu Folabi Salahu was born on the 3rd February, 1962 to the prestigious Salahu family of Surulere Compound, Falokun-Oja in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State. He had his School Leaving Certificate from St. James LGEA Primary School, Falokun-Oja in 1975 and had his Teacher’s Grade II Certificate from Government Teacher’s College, Igbogbo, Lagos in 1987 before he proceeded to the Kwara State College of Education for his Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) between 1989-1991. His penchant for knowledge further pushed him and he later continued his education at the Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto for his Law Degree Programme between 1991-1996 and thereafter, Nigeria Law School before being called to Bar in 1998 respectively.
His work experience, overtime, includes Teacher at Onitolo Community High School, Onitolo, Lagos in 1986 before venturing into Legal Practice where he worked at Saka Issau & Co, Ilorin between 1998-2000 and as Principal Partner AGF Salahuddeen & Co at ‘Adlu Chambers, Oja Iya, Ilorin from the year 2000 till date.
As part of his selfless services to the community, he had served various associations which includes President, National Association of Kwara State Students, Usman Danfodiyo University between 1994-1995,
Secretary, National Association of Kwara State Law Students, Usman Danfodiyo University in 1996, General Secretary, Muslim Lawyers’ Association of Nigeria, National Headquarters between 2012-2014 and Chairman, Muslim Lawyers’ Association of Nigeria, Kwara State respectively.
His political experience includes Vice-Chairman, Ifelodun LGA, Share, Kwara State between 2004-2007, member, Governing Council, College of Education, Ilorin and member, Governing Council, College of Education, Oro, Kwara State between 2004, 2007-2010 respectively. He was a Member, Kwara State Land Charge Tribunal in 2010, member, Committee on investigation of Ministry of Special Duties, Ilorin in 2003, member, Legal Committee, Peoples Democratic Party, Kwara State and a Candidate, Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, Omupo Constituency in 2011, he was elected as Member representing Omupo Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly on the platform of All Progressives Congress in 2019 and re-elected in the year 2023 on the same political platform.
With the inauguration of the 10th Assembly, he is to serve as the Chairman, House Committee on Ethics & Privileges, Member, House Committee on Agricultural & Natural Resources, Member, House Committee on Education & Human Capital Development and member, House Committee on Lands and Housing.
