Hon. Oba Abdulkadir Magaji was born in March, 1969 to the family of Ibrahim Baba-Agba Magaji in Magajin Geri’s Compound of Ilorin West Local Government of Kwara State.

Hon. Oba Abdulkadir started his educational career as a primary school pupil between 1976-1981. He attended Ilorin Grammar School between 1981-1986 before he proceeded to Government High School, Ilorin where he obtained his O’level Certificate. He studied Diploma in Law at Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin between 1989-1991 and later got admission into Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he bagged his Bachelor of law degree with honors in 1998. He was later called to the Nigerian Bar in 2000.

Hon. Oba Abdulkadir has served as member in various Associations which include Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), International Bar Association (IBA), Associate Member of Chattered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) and Member, Nigerian Institute of Arbitrators (UK).

He is also a managing partner of Magajin Geri &Co Law Firm in which he is the principal partner. A firm which primarily focuse on litigation, arbitration, marine, corporate and commercial practices.

After the demise of Hon Magaji Abubakar Olawoyin, the House Leader of the great 9th Assembly who was also the elder brother to Hon. Oba Abdulkadir, the Hon. Member was invited to join the ruling party (All Progressive Congress) in order to continue the good legacy of his

late brother. Hence, he joined active politics in February, 2023 where he contested and won as a Member of Kwara State House of Assembly.

After the inauguration of the House, he was appointed as the House Leader and Chairman, House Committee on Rules and Business. He is equally Member of House Committees on Selection, Ethics, Privileges and Judiciary; and Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

 

Hon. Oba Abdulkadir Magaji is happily married with children and he loves reading, travelling and making research.
