Kwara Assembly eulogizes NASS hierarchy over transparency

The Kwara State House of Assembly has praised the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki and the Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara for their steadfastness in championing the course of good goverance, transparency , people oriented and practicable 2017 budget, inspite of all distractions.

This was part of the resolutions of the State House of Assembly in reaction to the recent public disclosure of the budget of the National Assembly for this year.

The Motion titled ” Appraising the National Assembly Display of Transparency in the 2017 Budget Process” was sponsored by member representing Kaiama/ Kemanji/ Wajibe Constituency, Hon. Ahmed Ibn Mohammed

Reading the resolutions of the House, the Speaker, Dr. Ali Ahmad, said the leadership of the National Assembly had demonstrated highest level of transparency in the history of National Assembly, adding that this should be emulated by the legislative arm of government at in the States to further demonstrate that legislature is the conscience of the people .

The Kwara State House of Assembly urged the executive arm of government to implement the budget as passed, so that Nigerians would reap optimal benefits of the rigorous process the budget passed through.

The Law makers also praised the National Assembly for making provisions for the construction of various roads in the state.

The Legislature equally commended National Assembly Members from the state for the unprecedented record of achievements brought to the State.

Dr Ahmad, in the resolutions, said State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria have been urged to emulate the transparent and participatory process of passing budget by the National Assembly to further enhance the well-being of Nigerians.

The Kwara State House of Assembly also urged the hierarchy of the National Assembly to sustain the policy to further make democracy more meaningful to average Nigerians.
