United Kingdom to collaborate with KWHA in Deepening Constitutional Democracy in Nigeria

The Kwara State House of Assembly has eulogised the initiative of members of Igbomina in North America over the donation of two new state- of art Ambulances to the state government, for effective health care delivery service in the State.

This is the resolution of the House, following a Matter of General Public Importance, raised by the House Leader, Hon. Hassan Oyeleke, on the donation of the two mobile Clinics to the state government, by the Association.

The Deputy Speaker, Elder Mathew Okedare, who presided over the Wednesday’s sitting, while reading the resolution of the House, said the gesture was commendable and should be emulated by others to further enhance the well-being of the people of the State.
 
He therefore directed the Clerk to the House, to write letter of commendation to the principal officers and members of the Association, on behalf of the Legislature, to serve as impetus for better service delivery.

Hon. Oyeleke had while raising the Matter of General Public Importance, noted with delight that the gesture was unprecedented and enjoined other corporate bodies, affluent individuals in the State to always give back to their communities.

Other members who spoke on the Matter ,emphasised the need for collaboration between ,government and corporate organizations in the task of providing basic infrastructure for communities in the State.

Equally, the Chairman House Committee on Energy, Works and Transport, Hon. Mathew Babaoye under personal explanation said his committee had enquired into  deplorable state of roads in the State  and disclosed that the problem according to the Governor, Alhaji Abdul Fatah Ahmed would soon become a thing of the past, in view of the steps being taken by his administration.

Also, a bill for a law to provide legal backing for the establishment of the Kwara State Vocational Technical and Entrepreneur Development passed through first reading at the floor of the House.
